What You’ll Need to Measure

Enter your device’s:

Width — Measure from side to side.
Height — Measure from front to back.
Depth/Thickness — Measure the device at its thickest point.

For the best fit, measure the actual device, not the screen size listed by the manufacturer. A “13-inch laptop,” for example, refers to its screen measurement, not the overall dimensions of the laptop.

If you’re creating the quilt-as-you-go version from our tutorial, cut your backing and batting 1–2 inches larger on all sides than the calculated dimensions.

Complete your quilt-as-you-go design first, give the panel a final press, and then trim it to the dimensions above.

This gives you room for any shifting or drawing-in that happens during quilting and helps you achieve a cleaner, more accurate finished sleeve.
